What is Punk Rock Raduno?
Punk Rock Raduno is a “dumb, little festival” that started in 2016, when Otis Tours and stripedmusic.com decided to bring together the best pop-punk bands from around the world for a summer festival in Italy. The first Raduno tag line read “three chords, no brain”. Punkrockers may have no brain (arguably!) but they do have a big heart: that's why this family reunion, a “raduno” indeed, has been getting more and more special through the years and has become truly relevant for all the International labels, artists, sponsors and people involved.
It's true, Punk Rock Raduno may have a special taste for that 1-2-3-4 Lookout style pop-punk, but it's not the only thing we're humbly proud of. Punk Rock Raduno is different from the other summer “punk” festivals. First, it is an all ages FREE festival with neither barriers in front of the stage nor tight security checks; second, embracing a worldwide community, apart from the obvious live shows Raduno offers many more different experiences, such as acoustic sets,
tattoo parties, sport events, art exhibitions, a raffle and so on.
You see why Punk Rock Raduno is literally a family reunion, and that's why we stand strongly against racism, sexism, homophobia and violence. Everybody is welcome and we're very happy to have partnered up with a bunch of local LGBTQ+ and disabled people associations during the past four years. Raduno is about getting together, taking care of each other and having a good time while listening to our favorite bands. We wanna keep it that way, so put on your best smile 'cause you're in for a treat.
When is Punk Rock Raduno happening?
Punk Rock Raduno 7 will be from thursday July 11th to Sunday July 14th 2024.
Where is Punk Rock Raduno happening?
Punk Rock Raduno is a FREE festival taking place in Bergamo, a lovely city located in the north of Italy. The main events and live shows take place at Edoné, an artsy and exciting youth center located a few minutes away from the heart of Bergamo. The main stage and the smaller stage closeby are both outdoors. There's two bars and a restaurant on site with plenty of seating in the area as well as room for several distro/records/diy booths and of course merch tables. Thanks to our team, every year we print out the coolest fanzine with tons of interviews and special features; in more than one occasion we hosted art exhibitions and workshops. Also, every year we release a Raduno compilation on vinyl.
While the main events of Raduno take place at Edoné, we love the idea of introducing our city to the hundreds of punkrockers coming in from every part of the world and we do that by including friends and businesses around Bergamo into our reunion. There have been acoustic shows at the local skate shop Bomboclat Bergamo, a few dj sets around town as well as a tattoo party at Ink Club; Bikefellas cafè hosted Lookout Records' founder Larry Livermore's reading, who was our guest in 2019, while one of the main events is the roller derby match at Piscine Italcementi with a live show from a Raduno band during intermission.
One sold-out event then was “Take the punk rock bus”, an acoustic show on the bus that took people around town and then to the roller derby site. We have plenty coming up for Punk Rock Raduno 6 too, including a few special exhibitions, so stay tuned for more news.
What is Edoné?
Edoné is the headquarters of Punk Rock Raduno.
Edoné is a super friendly youth center located a few minutes away from the heart of Bergamo, in the Redona district; it is a vibrant, artsy and exciting space open to everyone where a lot of cool things happen, live shows and movie nights being only a couple among them.
Edoné peaks during the summer because it simply is the best location for festivals: in fact the venue is situated in a delightful park, with plenty of space and parking spots around the area. Many Italian and international artists hit the outdoor stage all year long, but in the summer the park, with its charming chain lights and breeze, just has the most magical atmsphere to enjoy the longest days and warmest nights.
Edoné always puts quality and ethics before anything. It encourages cultural and social growth and it's official partner of Bergamo Pride too. The bar and staff are excellent, and let us mention the special new menù including pizza, bowls and special dishes with plenty of vegan/vegetarian as well as gluten-free options; not to mention the tasties burgers from the Pony Burgers service, that is well known all around Bergamo. Our beloved Edoné is an inclusive and unique venue, no wonder it is adored by young people as well as families as well as punks: Punk Rock Raduno is truly proud of calling it its headquarters!
How do I get to Bergamo?
The Milan Bergamo Airport (Il Caravaggio International Airport Bergamo Orio al Serio) is the most convenient international airport to get to Punk Rock Raduno as it connects north Italy to basically every corner of Europe. Orio al Serio is located just ten minutes away from Bergamo; there you can find buses going to the city centre and of course you have car rental options too.
Another way to reach Bergamo is via Milan Linate Airport; it will take you about 40 minutes by car and 1.45h by bus/train. The Milan Malpensa Airport and Verona Caselle airports are a bit farther; it takes about 1 hour to get from there to Bergamo by car. If you'd rather avoid air travel you may wanna check Flixbus and the Italian railways schedules, blablacar.it (or the Raduno Facebook page for that matter!) for carpooling. The Milan Malpensa Airport offers a direct shuttle to Bergamo (and back), called Orio Shuttle.
That’s the easiest and cheapest way to reach the city from MXP.
Do I need to buy tickets to the festival?
Punk Rock Raduno is absolutely FREE ENTRANCE. There's no ticket to buy and if any event had a fee or waiting list you'd be the first to know. Anyway, setting up a festival costs a lot of money, you know. So how can you support the festival? One way to do that is booking a room at the Bergamo Hostel; then buy Raduno merch, ask us for tickets to the raffle and grab all your drinks and food at Edoné. Besides, if you feel so inclined, you can support Raduno with a
donation: whether small or big, it'll help Raduno getting better and better!
Where do I sleep?

How do I move around?
If you're driving, you better watch out for pedestrian or ZTL (limited traffic) areas, especially in the city centre and Città Alta. Parking spots in Italy are color coded: white spaces are free, blue are paid, and yellow spaces are reserved for residents or disabled people. Parking around Edoné is free but otherwise watch out for blue spaces as you need to pay for your stay during the day. As blah as it sounds, please don't drink and drive.
Buses n.5 and C take you from Edoné to the city centre. You can call a taxi at (+39) 035 451 90 90 or 030 35 40 136, and here's a link to the Bergamo bike sharing service.
Else, don't be afraid to ask a local punk for a ride and make a new friend that way!
Where do I grab food?
The main shows at Punk Rock Raduno afternoon to late night take place at Edoné. We recommend ordering your drinks from the bars and food from the in-site restaurant. As of winter 2020, Edoné has a fantastic new menù with plenty of vegan/vegetarian as well as gluten-free options. Also, to make life a little easier, there will be drink cards for cocktails and beers, stay tuned for more info.
Can I bring my kids at Punk Rock Raduno?
Totally! Edoné is a safe space for everyone and kids are especially welcome and Punk Rock Raduno is an all ages festival (as a matter of fact, we had an acoustic set by The Creeps at PRR4 in the kids area...). Everyone has their own perception about what is or isn't child appropriate, but generally speaking there's nothing to worry about with “our” punks; in fact,
plenty of families come out and see the shows or simply have lunch at Edoné while enjoying Punk Rock Raduno. For their safety, though, be sure your children wear headphones or at least earplugs for hearing protection.
How about Bergamo?
The city of Bergamo is a true gem in north Italy and it would totally be worth sightseeing a little bit while you're in town for Punk Rock Raduno. Bergamo is the home to some 120k people and its oldest part is the one that is located on top of the hill, also known as Città Alta. There's 15 walking paths to get to Città Alta, but whether you decide to climb up through Via Santa Lucia Vecchia or with the cable railway, once on top you will go back in time.
Bergamo Alta is surrounded by the impressive Venetian walls built in the late XVI Century and you can still see the Portas, that were and still represent the gateways to the old city. While Piazza della Cittadella dates back to the Middle Ages, Piazza Vecchia is the real heart of Bergamo: that's where you'll find the Palazzo della Ragione and the Campanone; if you go ahead you can also explore the Duomo, the Roman basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and the famous Colleoni Chapel with amazing frescos by famous painter Giambattista Tiepolo.
The lower section of Bergamo is equally a delightful sight. There's only so much to see that we wouldn't want to keep you away from Punk Rock Raduno in the end!
Need any help?
Whether you're traveling alone or you're a queer punk, if you're disabled or just a bit shy you don't have to worry. It is our wish to provide equal access and equal opportunity to everyone and we work to guarantee that both Punk Rock Raduno and Edoné are easily accessible and safe for everyone: ours is a constant effort to make Raduno a super friendly environment and make sure that you have a good time.
We cannot stress enough that Raduno stands strongly against racism, sexism, homophobia and violence, and if someone or something feels a bit out of place we will need your help to keep it this way. Everybody is welcome and we really want everybody to take care of everyone during Raduno, 'cause we're all here to have an excellent time TOGETHER. Help us keep our eyes peeled for any sign of trouble or discomfort and let us know if you need help: we will be there to lend a hand.
